After years of thought I have chosen to intensely study Art, yet every once and a while I still have moments of doubt. Have I made the right decision? Would I be just as happy knitting a hat as I am creating "Fine Art"? I do not regret my choice, but sometimes I wonder if I will just another number in the huge percentage of former art students who currently have nothing to do with the art world. I guess I'll find out eventually...

What? Rude!

Why do so many people think it is completely okay to ask an artist for their art? Hey I like that painting you should give it to me...I consider that so rude, why doesn't the rest of our greater society? There is no comprehension of how much is put into an artist's work...Our time, our money, and our creative spirit. I just don't believe non-art people understand what they are so casually asking. They want what we have created, but they don't realize what they are asking. I wouldn't dare ask them to hand me 40 hours of their wages, what gives them the right to ask for my livelihood?

Awesome...

Nature is the most amazing source of beauty and I don’t think it is possible to recreate or capture it completely. Whether it is a mountain, ocean, or desert I find them incredibly different and equally stunning. She is so diverse and each angle is unique. I find myself eagerly anticipating her next reveal, her plays on light and shadow, her endless textures, and her spectacular colors bending together. She is still one of the greatest muses in existence.

Creative Influences

I took this picture myself and forgot to write down the artist.

Here are a few days worth of ponderings and observations...

-During my walk to class this morning I encountered two women wearing high heeled shoes. I couldn't stop myself from wondering if they were enjoying their walk as much as I was enjoying mine. For some reason I just couldn't bring myself to believe that they were. I just pictured blisters and swollen foot pads. It made me pity them as I walked away in my comfy flip flops.

-Including myself and the bus driver there are nine people on the bus at 11:48 today.

-I currently have nine toe nails covered or partically covered in bright orange nail polish and one nail that has taken it's rebellion far more seriously. It doesn't have a drop of polish left. I guess it is time to start over.
My haiku is not about my favorite movie or book. No, my haiku is about my favorite thing…the unhurried walk that has no destination. When I can relish every breath of fresh air and ponder all the wonders I encounter.

Savor today’s stroll
Rejoice in unexpected
